Education & Training in Bahrain
In Bahrain, education has not only been for students being qualified and ensuring a good job, but to inspire young principles that are vital to Bahrain society. For that reason, schools have required to encourage tolerance of others, superior citizenship and the significance of responsibility. Bahrain, like other Gulf States, was mostly depending on teachers that were expatiated, mainly from Egypt, Syria and Lebanon. Higher education in the country began as separate colleges based on requirements. In 1970 the only college in the region to focus on technology was the Gulf College of Technology and it was accepting students from other Arab Gulf States. By 1976 the College of Health Science and Hotel and Catering Training Center was established. In 1978 Bahrain established The University College of Bahrain which served as the basis of the current University of Bahrain.
